Our Catholic Faith.

Rooted in the Life, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Jesus told His Apostles to wait in Jerusalem for the great gift of the Holy Spirit and they listened. They were rewarded with His Presence.

The Holy Spirit is the one who bridges Heaven and Earth for us! He is the one who brings the power of Eternity to us on Earth. Without Him, we have no link to Heaven. Without Him, our prayers are not heard, because we do not have voices loud enough to shout to Heaven! Without Him, Jesus cannot be brought to us in what first was bread and wine.

Without the Holy Spirit, we are not changed into God Himself, which is what the Sacraments do. He transforms us into God Himself!

In His Image.  Genesis 1: 26-27

Celebrating the Sacraments

Visible signs of an invisible God.

Seven Sorrows of the BVM Catholic School, actively celebrates the sacraments by weaving them into our school so they remain the foundation of who we are. These celebrations—including the Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Confirmation—serve as a core pillar of Catholic education, fostering faith formation and community.

Both our Catholic and non-Catholic students celebrate Mass once a week and on Holy Days.  Students not participating in the Eucharist also process to the altar during Holy Communion receiving a powerful blessing from Fr. Sahd.

Catholic Identity

Where Faith meets life.

Our Catholic Identity is celebrated together, as a school family,  Friday afternoons at 2:30pm. This time together is spent with a youth ministry vibe, under the leadership of our Religion teacher, Mrs. Shealyn Breen.  Mrs. Breen brings inspiration, games, props, activities and videos to catechize and open the hearts of our students to a stronger faith. She does so in a fun, loving and energized environment, leaving us all wanting more!

Adoration

Spending an hour with The One who knows you best.

Eucharistic Adoration offers students a vital sanctuary from the noise of modern life. It provides a dedicated space for silence, stress relief, and personal reflection. By stepping away from technology and social media, students can center their minds, build resilience, and develop a deeper sense of self-worth.

Teachers and classes frequently take advantage of time in the church or our Adoration Chapel for worship of our Lord and Savior.

Prayer Partners

Stronger together, anchored in Faith

Our school prayer partners are mentorship or peer pairings focused on mutual spiritual support, encouragement, and lifting up specific intentions.  The bond of unity created in these partnerships have lasting effects on our students.  The older ones step into a protective, nurturing role, while the younger ones develop a deep connection and love for their new friend.
